My first social contacts here in New York were mostly fellow Belgian entrepreneurs. I was working at the shared office space at the Belgian Chamber of Commerce (BelCham) and that’s how I met Mandy Demuth. She is a photographer from Antwerp who captured Veerle Baetens, Joy Anna Thielens and Gene Berevoets already in the Big Apple.
Soon enough we both realized that food, creativity and traveling were common interests.
No wonder we started to meet up every once in a while to go for a classic New York Brunch!
We always try to find some new small places and last time we ended up in Williamsburg. Delaware&Hudson is one of those place we were always wondering about.
Outside a small patio, very inviting, but none of us ever tried the menu.
While doing little research on the website, we discovered the history and philosophy of Patty Jackson. Being a female pastry chef, she creates her menu’s with everything she can get from local farmers. Want to get to know them too? Patty shares their passion on her website as well!
The decor is rather industrial to really keep the focus on the food.
Not a long list with difficult preparations but a delicious summary of all available seasonal products.
We tried the Baltimore Crab Cakes with Poached eggs, scones and the Cinnamon Donuts.
Sharing is caring and besides the food, we shared our desire to travel all states.
After a great experience, we noticed that the Michelin guide too had discovered this hidden gem…
